Quintet

for solo instrument and live electronics
versions exist for flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, and violoncello

The score for Quintet for solo instrument and live electronics is largely improvisational. Though exact pitches are rarely indicated, the sound quality and durations are handled with a greater degree of specificity. The electronic part is based on a Max/MSP patch that acts as a recording and looping device, with four individual tracks. In addition to starting and stopping recording and playback, the performer is responsible for activating certain processes, the most significant of which is the pitch shifter.
